Description: This dataset contains polygons for significant bird sites within the Whitsunday Planning Area. The polygons were developed from the described latitudes, longitudes and vectors in Schedule 6, Clauses 1 to 11 of the Whitsundays Plan of Management 1998, Compilation No. 4 dated 1 January 2018.The dataset is consistent with the descriptions contained in Schedule 6, Clauses 1 to 11 of the Whitsundays Plan of Management 1998, Compilation No. 4 dated 1 January 2018, with the exception of boundaries that are described as being along the coastline at mean low water. Sufficient data to determine mean low water is not available, therefore the coastal boundary lines follow the coastlines as defined by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Mainland and Islands dataset. Polygon edges have been extended from the last vertex nearest the coastline, along the described heading of the last vertex nearest the coastline to the coastline and snapped to the edge of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Mainland and Island polygon.
