Description:

ATTRIBUTES: LIQUEFACTION Y - the area falls within liquefaction potential. N - no potential for liquefaction. Prior to development, areas of the county having a potential for liquefaction must meet certain requirements and or liquefaction reports prior to approval. Note: the source of this information is the 1976 Riverside County seismic safety element technical report, prepared by Envicom Corporation for the County of Riverside. This data was digitized from maps provided by Envicom. Please read enclosure. The enclosure includes the original metadata from Earth Consultants International and modifications to the metadata by the County Chief Geologist. To display this data as prepared in the County of Riverside General Plan, Section 6, Figure S-3 the ZONE field will be used as the key field. Zones 101 - 105 vary from Very High to Very Low. These areas are described as "Shallow Groundwater, Susceptable Sediments". The colors for this group are as follows: Very High (101) - maroon, High (102) - red, Moderate (103) - orange, Low (104) - yellow, Very Low (105) - pink. Zones 106 - 108 vary from Moderate to Very Low. These areas are described as "Deep Groundwater, Susceptable Sediments". The colors for this group are as follows: Moderate (106) - Dark yellow, Low (107) - yellow, Very Low (108) - light yellow. Zones 109 - 111 vary from Moderate to Very Low. These areas are described as "No Groundwater Data, Susceptable Sediments". The colors for this group are as follows: Moderate (109) - Dark green, Low (110) - Leaf green, Very Low (111) - Light green. The layer file titled "gp_liquefaction.lyr" contains the symbology to create the map as seen in "Figure S-3 Generalized Liquefaction Map of the 2003 General Plan, Chapter 6 - Safety Element." *NOTE: If the map only needs to depict the areas that will require geological reports for general construction purposes, query out ZONES 101 - 103 (Study Required) and Zone 109 (Discretionary). The layer file titled "georeports_liquefaction.lyr" contains the symbology that represents these zones.
