Service Description: Comparing the percentage of those with a bachelor’s degree and the per capita income in different districts of Washington D.C. The districts that have a higher percentage of the population with a bachelor’s degree tend, for the most part, to have a higher per capita income. This seems to allude to the idea that higher education can open up higher paying positions for educated individuals. The poorest areas in the district also seem to be those that have the lowest level of educational attainment. The northwest section of the map has a high level of education and a higher per capita income than most other areas of the district. In contrast, the eastern and southern portions of the district have far lower educational attainment and lower per capita income. There are exceptions, of course. Some of the poorer areas have higher educational attainment than certain areas with a higher per capita income. Similarly, certain areas with a high per capita income also exhibit a lower educational attainment. This shows that the correlation is not definite, and variability exists.
