Description: These data oridinated with DCRA Community Profile Maps and have been subsequently updated to support data management in GIS. Original CAD files were converted to GIS polygons and assigned legal description information including lot, block, tracts,plat and subdivision name Parcels were also assigned attributes related to source plat. Metadata from the original CAD drawing used to generate the parcels is as follows:OriginatorCoastal Villages Region Fund Inc. in cooperation with the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development (Commerce).AbstractAn AutoCad 2000 drawing of Toksook Bay, Alaska showing US Surveys, recorded plats, utilities, topography, physical features, areas subject to flooding, general land ownership, and land status over-layed on a photo of the community (orthophoto for the community map and for the area map).Source Output Scale: 1” = 100’ and 1” = 400’ Projection: Alaska State Plane Zone 7 & 8Datum: NAD 83Units: FeetSurvey All Survey information is tied to geodetic survey monuments in the community. Control Each survey is based on the record platAccuracy Meets National Cartographic Mapping Standards (90% of defined horizontal points are accurate to within 2 feet, 90% of elevations are accurate to within 1 foot)Process The maps are prepared by researching land records, field survey work, building inventories, and land uses in the community and immediate area. Survey ground control was done to prepare the orthophoto and contour mapping. There is a survey tie to the community’s high water mark. A digital elevation model is created to prepare the orthophotos. All work is done in accordance with the National Cartographic Mapping Standards.
