Raster calculator expression Raster(r"SLRM.img") <= 0.32 was used to separate possible tree bases in the Simple Local Relief Model from non tree base areas.

Raster to polygon tool creates polygons for the areas returned as true from the raster calculator

Then filled areas were deleted from the polygon layer.

Then a variety of polygons that couldn't be tree bases were deleted.

1. Polygons inside agricultural fields, roads, buildings were all removed.

2. Polygons that were long and narrow were also removed. This was calculated using the difference of the XY minimum and XY maximum.

Features to Point tool then turns all polygons in to points.
