Description: This datalayer represents the building footprints for all buildings in the Town of Westwood as seen using aerial photographs. The layer was originally created during the base mapping for the Town. Starting in late 2009 building footprint information has been added/improved by using copies of plot plans, as-builts, and surveys supplied by the Building Department. Since these plans show the true location of the building relative to the lot lines (rather than from aerial photography) these are considered to be the most accurate for those buildings (where available). Since these are not universally available they are only being done as infrmation is supplied from the Building Department. In many cases the buildings have been modified without these plans being available, so the footprint digitized from aerial photography is the only choice. This has often resulted in buildings that appear to straddle a lot line, which is mostly the result of the georeferencing of the aerial photography. As better information becomes available these footprints will also be improved. In order to know the quality/accuracy of the building footprint WRT the lot lines a SOURCE field was created. 'Source' in the attribute table should be relied on and maintained along with the change date
