Service Description: Washington State counties bordering the Puget Sound (also known as the Salish Sea) have Marine Recovery Areas or Sensitive Areas. Within these areas, parcels are given a status related to onsite sewage treatment systems (OSS). The status of these parcels are “Known OSS / Required Inspection Current,” “Known OSS / Required Inspection Not Current,” “Suspected OSS / No Documentation,” “Sewer / Large Onsite Sewage System” (LOSS being regulated by the Department of Health), and “Vacant or No Suspected OSS.” If a parcel does not have one of these statuses, the status of “Unknown” is applied.
